Ian Craig was admitted in 1981 and has been in practice for 29 years.
Prior to joining Thompson Eslick, Ian had been a partner at Hunt and Hunt for 20 years running a Common Law and Employment practice.

In 1991 Ian set up the Canberra office of Hunt and Hunt and was, between 1991 and 1997, the partner in charge of the Canberra practice. In that time Ian was supervising an office of four solicitors and an equal number of support staff, and acted for a number of insurance companies, and government agencies in various litigious matters.
Ian returned to Sydney in 1997 and headed up an insurance practice within its Sydney office and for a short time was stationed at its Eastwood office involved in Land and Environment Court litigation, acting for a number of council and developer clients.
Ian joined Thompson Eslick in 2007. He brought with him a small insurance practice which he continues to service.

Since joining Thompson Eslick, Ian has been involved in the running of some large commercial cases for the firm's clients and his insurance company clients. He works closely with Peter with the conduct of some of the firm’s larger cases.
Ian is a skilled negotiator having participated in many settlement conferences and mediations for his clients over the years, achieving remarkable outcomes for his clients.
Ian has also assumed the defacto 'staff relations' officer role at Thompson Eslick mentoring many of the young lawyers and clerks passing through its ranks.
